The Concept

Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a was started back in 2003 with Na Opio Hana Pa’a or A Celebration of Youth Opportunities when the first Maui to Molokai Challenge was started. The crossing was the vehicle in getting our visiting ocean men, women and youth to Molokai via the ocean. While that was happening we had events for our community and everyone then converged at Malama Park for an afternoon of music and festivities. The event evolved, went through its growing pains but most importantly adjusted and adapted to our community needs. Unfortunately Malama Park went through its own growing pains and became off limits but soon we hope that we can bring Malama Park alive with the weekend of Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a.

Our Founders

We welcome all volunteers and we currently have our partners on Maui and Molokai where we can all work together in making this event amazing for all who attend, from the toddler to the elite athlete.

Our Profits

All profits of the event will go towards Youth in Motion current programs and a community fund for Molokai Youth Organizations to apply for.

2023

2023 will mark the coming together of our Molokai community by inspiring our youth and their families to get healthy as we celebrate 21 years since we started this event
